What is
Indexation?

The process of search engines storing a page in their database for retrieval in search results.

Definition

Indexation happens after crawling. Just because Google crawls a page doesn't mean it's indexed. Indexation can be blocked by noindex tags, low quality, duplicate content, or crawl issues. Indexation rate (% of submitted URLs actually indexed) is a key health metric for any large site.

Example

A pSEO site submits 10k URLs, but Search Console shows only 6k indexed — a sign of quality or technical issues.
