·Definition
Domain authority is a third-party metric (not a Google signal) that approximates a site's ranking strength. It's useful for benchmarking and competitor analysis but should not be optimized as an end in itself. The underlying signals — quality backlinks, content depth, technical health — are what actually matter.
Example
Vedwix.com starts at DA ~10 as a young site; building authority takes 12-24 months even with strong content.
How Vedwix uses Domain Authority in client work
We track DA as one of several health signals, not as a primary KPI.
