Story
Linear was founded in 2019 by Karri Saarinen, Tuomas Artman, and Jori Lallo, all alumni of Airbnb and Coinbase. The team set out to rebuild engineering project management with an emphasis on speed, design, and methodology. Linear's "Method" — a documented opinionated approach to engineering — turned the product into a movement. By 2026, Linear has displaced Jira at thousands of modern startups and is generally considered one of the best-designed B2B SaaS products.
