Pentagram was founded in London in 1972 by five designers (Alan Fletcher, Theo Crosby, Colin Forbes, Kenneth Grange, and Mervyn Kurlansky). The studio operates as a partnership of equal owners — by 2026 there are 20+ partners across London, New York, Berlin, Austin, and San Francisco. Pentagram has done foundational work for Saks, Mastercard, Walmart, Verizon, and dozens of cultural institutions.
