Hiring guide · Design
How to hire a
product designer.
Product designers are now expected to crossover with engineering, design systems, and brand. The right hire depends on how integrated those disciplines are at your company.
Comp range$130k-$250k base depending on seniority.
Timeline6-12 weeks.
When to hire
Hire in-house
You ship continuously — multiple features per quarter — and design is a constraint.
When to outsource
Outsource to a studio
You're between product designers and need a 3-month bridge. A studio is a faster bridge.
